Coverage and History

FinzData provides US stock market data for every US stock including delisted companies plus 231 ETFs. History goes back more than 26 years and is available as bars at 1-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, 30-minute, hourly and daily for systematic research and model training.

The dataset includes point-in-time fundamentals from SEC filings, macro data with vintages as first published, CFTC COT positioning, and 13F institutional holdings. This structure supports reproducible backtests and feature engineering without lookahead bias.

Data is delivered through a Python package and direct HTTP endpoints with CSV and parquet downloads. The API is designed for AI, quants, data scientists and investors who need consistent identifiers and clean time series for the US market.

Market Hours and Real Time Access

US regular session is 9:30 am to 4:00 pm New York time. Intraday bars align to the regular session and are available after close for the full market.

End-of-day prices, volumes and corporate actions are updated nightly. End-of-day options chains for US stocks and ETFs are included, with nightly dealer gamma levels as a $29 a month add-on.

For global users, access is consistent regardless of local time. The API returns timestamps in UTC and exchange local time to simplify alignment across datasets.

Python Quickstart

pip install finzdata
import finzdata as yf
yf.Client().cot(report="legacy_fo", market="GOLD")

The quickstart shows pip install, import and a COT query. The same pattern applies to price history, fundamentals and holdings endpoints with consistent parameters for ticker, date range and frequency.

Responses are paginated and include metadata for source and as-of date. This makes it straightforward to build pipelines for feature stores, research notebooks and production services.

A free API key, no card, 1,000 calls a day is available for evaluation. Paid plans are priced in US dollars and paid by card.
